Last night I watched 华丽上班族 之 生活与生存 featuring 张艾嘉 and my latest idol 郑元畅.
The story is about modern office politics dealing with external factors like global economic downturn after Lehman Brothers. The topics include retrenchments, IPO during uncertain times, internal politics arises to speculated who gets axed, who gets promoted, who is the successors, new freshies entering this 钩心斗角 company, not knowing what to expect.
There are staff with household problems like extramarital affairs, betraying hushand. There are also staff with financial woes like the tumbling share prices. Misappropriation of funds came into the picture eventually.
Many details, many ideas, many ruthless tricks to get to the top is packed into this 3 hr play. Wonderful story, great actors. I couldn't fully understand the story and even deem it so-so. Until I read the story from the program book on my train ride home, then I fully understand and appreciate it.
